THE NATIONAL FELLOWSHIP OF BORN AGAIN PENTECOSTAL CHURCHES, AN
ECONOMIC, HEALTH, SOCIAL, INTELLECTUAL AND POLITICAL DISASTER
My warm greetings to you in the wonderful name of Christ Jesus
and thank God for whatever He is doing in, for and through your
lives.
I bring to your attention my response to the NFBAPCU (the so
called umbrella of all Born Again Christians in the country)
leadership decision to publicly disown me that featured in the
New Vision of June 6th 2006, page 2.
It is with deep pain that I express my regrets, especially at
such a time when people are coming out to voice their horrible
experiences with men and women of God in so called houses of God
some of whom belong to the NFBAPC. I just wonder why, of all
people Alex Mitala, Nkata and Oyet chose to have a public show
in the name of all Born Again Christians in the country.
Therefore, I have no choice but to painfully respond as follows:
1. I have never belonged, solicited or even desired to
belong to the NFBAPC due to the following reasons:
a) It is a reactionary group formed in the aftermath of the
Kanungu infernal as Government and the public seemed to be
moving toward banding Kibwetere with the Born Again movement.
They did this as a strategy to cover each other in the event of
persecutions or government inquiry into any of their activities.
b) Its back-born was the United Redeemed Council, headed by
Kayiwa Simeon (NCF), whose spiritual power base can be traced
from Ghanain born magician and witch, would be king, turned
Catholic priest then prophet and Christian masquerader, John
Obiri Yeboah, who anointed Kayiwa, Kakande, Balabyekkubo,
Makumbi and many others prophets and apostles, and to whom many
like Rev Godfrey Lule prove to owe spiritual allegiance. I
couldn’t band myself, or let people I reach out to belong to
such an occult based movement.
c) If you closely scrutinize the group, you will find in it
among others the following:
- Scriptural
manipulators: these base messages on just one or
a few biblical verses and even where the same point to something
else, they twist, mis-contextualize and misinterpret same to
suit their own objectives. Where they are totally wrong, they
cite verses that seem to back them in their wrongs and they keep
intimidating followers who may wish to expose their evil actions
citing, ‘Touch not my anointed, …’ 1 Chron 16. 22 out of context
of the entire 1 Chron 15 & 16.
- Thieves, robbers
and conmen: Many people are crying foul of
NFBAPC pastors like Namutebi Imelda, Ssozi, Sembera, Mugagga and
others who shrewdly coerce them to give all their fortunes
including children school fees, houses and core capital funds,
proving worse than traditional witch-doctors who demand little
sums of money, clothes, chicken, goats, and sheep and in rare
cases cows.
- Some have become
self-styled visa consulars just to rob people in
desperate quest for visas to Europe, America and the Far East
rich nations in the hope of prosperity. Alex Mitala and his
cohorts know this well! People are robbed in the name of the
Lord! Should we just keep quiet?
- Extortionists
and pillagers who demand big denomination
currency notes and ban followers to give coins besides hatching
other tricks like requiring followers to sow seeds of faith in
foreign currencies like Dollars and Pound Sterlings, and grade
people according to size of offertory, with those who give more
given preferential treatment and prayers no different from
Catholic monk Johans Tetzel’s exploitative tricks!
- Occultists:
Just like their chief patriarch, John Obiri Yeboah and NFBAPC
initiator Kayiwa Simeon, some are deeply rooted in the occult
and find it really hard to quit since the day they do so, their
powers must cease. They use magic to work miracles, witchcraft
to harm and curse enemies and even brag about it (contrary to
Christ Jesus teaching, ‘love your enemies,’ Mat 5.38-48),
divination to foresee (the reason many services are filled with
promises for miracles) and, necromancy – power to manipulate and
use spirits of the dead for consultation and tormenting other
people at will.
- Expert
manipulators: these manipulate members to give
false testimonies of miracle healings compelling many off
medicine to give would be medical cash to pastors, leading to
loss of precious human life. Surprisingly, the same pastors get
for themselves and families the best medical care, the very
reason some wear spectacles where they subject followers to
empty prayers. One wonders if such pastors are faithful and if
they are, why they are not healed.
- More surprising
is: some have falsely claimed to raise the dead,
others to have power for miracle babies and heal the lame, just
as catch slogans for desperate and unsuspecting people.
- Manipulators who
teach members to speak fake tongues branded
either angelic or merely new, neither understood nor interpreted
and with similar syllables like a Choir, contrary to biblical
example in Acts 2 and teaching in 1 Corinthians 14.
- Expert marriage
manipulators: these shrewdly compel followers
into marital relationships many of which never last beyond their
third year, and sadly, some with victims of HIV they claim to
have prayed for and healed. This is why many Born Again
‘miracle’ marriages are in shambles.
- Men and women
snatchers like Namutebi Imelda, Godfrey Lule,
Violet and Mugarura. I wish to re-iterate my stand on Namutebi
that the pastor who wedded them, the wedding host and all who
participated in it are wrong and owe the nation and Kula’s
ex-wife Safina an apology, not a brag that she sues in court for
redress. Yet there are others who steal conjugal joys of their
flock in the name of Jesus! What a shame!
- Sodomite pastors
and members: On record are pastors and ministers sodomizing
their flock. Alex Mitala knows very well complaints about some
of their own like Kitaka of Liberty accused of sodomizing young
men, and Rukundo of Rubaga Miracle Center who sodomized his
friend yet all times, no action is taken by the custodians of
faith in Born Agains! Is this not strange and greatly
unfortunate!
- Expert marriage
breakers: just like in Kakande’s cult where
marriage breaking seems normal, some pastors in the NFBAPC have
interfered in and finally broken many marriages. Husbands have
complained of their wives flirting with other men (so called
brothers) during night prayers, and pastors leading to marriage
breakage, just as wives have complained of their husbands
flirting with female pastors and prophetesses, beside sisters in
vain. It is no strange to hear stupid testimonies of a spouse
praising God for deliverance from a ‘demonic’ marital
relationship! Is this not really perverse! I have personally
approached Pr Oyet over his deep involvement in the destruction
of Mr Omara’s marriage with Petra Omara when he recruited Petra
into his church (Lifeline) leadership ranks. I don’t want Oyet
to compel me to say more at this juncture.
- Shameless liars:
these pronounce healing where there is none, prosperity where
there is none, and claim to hear from God directly where no
communication has been received. Such pronounce forthcoming
tragedies like death of candidates, election winning by definite
percentages, give end of Kony war in days and months, among many
others which come to nothing. When explanations are demanded by
the public, the same tell all to ask God why and are shrewdly
defended by colleagues using twisted scripture! Check past
Namboole New Year proclamations and you will believe me right.
Oyet and Kayanja have deceived the nation about the end of the
Kony war and the Mitalas have said nothing about it. Is this
what Born Again theology is all about?
- ‘Generals of God’
as they so wish to be called, who commit atrocities hiding in
scripture and the pulpits, but jump out to take cover under the
law when we move to uncover them! Is that not hypocrisy that
must be condemned!
- Men and women
whose craze for pompous titles and riches
greatly surpasses their zeal for righteousness, integrity,
holiness and seeing the lost truly surrender to God through
Christ Jesus.
- Men and women
who solicit for funds from indiscriminate
religious sources, yet when they return to Uganda, claim
miracles and make no mention of sources. Some divert grants for
orphans and other needy people for their own lavish life-styles.
Some even go for kyeyo yet when they return, claim to have been
on mission work! What a shame!
- Men and women
whose prosperity and globalization gospels have
made the youth to think that even when they don’t study hard,
they can be simply prayed for to succeed in the educational
pursuits. Some have realized too late when failures or even
discontinued from Makerere University and other institutions!
- Ministers and
members whose dress code exposes their nakedness
and ‘gospel’ music tuned ‘Ndombolo’ to promote immorality. No
wonder the many pre-marital pregnancies and ‘miracle babies’
therein!
- Cheats who
employ yet cheat the wages of their staff and
who borrow but never repay! Mitala and colleagues should have
already alerted the public about such!
From all this and obviously more, it is a certainty that I
cannot desire to be part of such a group composed of fellows who
are in err but hate correction, shuttling between pulpits and
corridors of political power to win recognition and protection
as they commit evil. Never! Never and never!
2. The Alex Mitala led press conference was a reactionary
move:
For all keenly following the unfolding events since the launch
by concerned Christian leaders of the nationwide campaign
against false teaching, cults and the occult, where people are
coming out to testify of horrible experiences with some of the
so called men and women of God in the houses of God, the move by
the trio and their cohorts is totally reactionary. It leaves
many questions unanswered & does not much help to address
people’s concerns. I, Christians & the entire public wonder:
- Why it has taken them so long and much pressurization to
release such a statement against Kakande and Lule activities?
- Why they chose to band me with Kakande and Lule whose
activities I have for long openly opposed and exposed when they
(NFBAPC leadership) have been hiding selves in pulpits?
- Whether they cant see any difference between Me, a
counter-cult activist and revivalist, spearheading putting the
entire body of Christ back to sanity and sanctity based on
Biblical truth, not craze for miracles only, inspiring other
victimized people to open up about their experiences with
satanic pastors, and Kakande and Lule on the other hand?
- Whether they want to convince the public that after
disowning me, the NFBAPC remains clean, free from all evil and
totally blameless?
- Why they made no mention on their stand with Kayiwa (NCF)
whose deep relationship with Yeboah and Kakande remains solid
and secret.
- Whereas I have assembled insurmountable facts to prove my
case that Mitala and his group should have labored to address or
dispute, they myopically chose to band me with Kakande and Lule,
some of the very people I have stood to prove wicked, and
without any credible reason. They should have labored to give
their rationale for such a decision!
- Why the Mitalas couldn’t disown Stephen Ssozi, Kimera
Patrick and others whose marital status are no different from
Kakande’s and some against whom evidence has surfaced of using
sex exploiting demons on women among others.
- Whether to tell the truth, one has to be a member of the
NFBAPC?
- Whether Mitala and his group have a vision for the body of
Christ: as you know, without a vision, people perish (Prov
29.18). Had they been visionaries, no matter how much they may
disagree with me, they would have seized opportunity to team
with me, a man who has been greatly persecuted for the truth by
so called men and women of God, yet time later, whatever I have
said has come to pass!
I strongly believe, the trio and their cohorts moved to speak
fearing independent moves by none NFBAPC top leadership to
respond to growing public calls that government moves to
institute an open inquiry into activities of Born Again
churches. A purely reactionary move to avoid a coup from within
and avert an inquiry!
3. Like their patriarch Kayiwa (NCF), Mitala, Oyet, Nkata and
their colleagues have exhibited gross spiritual bankruptcy and
lack of discernment typical of people without truth. By their
desperate struggle to rescue their sinking ship (the NFBAPC)
which they have been hoping use to tap donations from generous
Western world donors and lobby for government recognition, they
have actually pushed their ship further down the waters. They
have only succeeded in turning their group into a mafia-style
religion no different from the Dark Ages Catholic Church. They
have proved selves misfits to lead Christians into truth which
they themselves lack.
4. It is a known truth that because of people like the
Mitalas who suppress truth, many Christians have over the years
opted out of the entire devilish church wherein evil is
committed in the name of the Lord, Christ Jesus, God or Holy
Spirit no matter the denomination that today, there are more
Christians who hate all sorts of obeisance and hypocrisy
mourning outside than within. I suppose Mitala and his friends
are intellectual enough to try a survey. Don’t they feel
concerned at the rate of Born Again church drop-out? Is that not
pitiable of a nation whose anthem rests it in God’s mighty
hands? Where is the difference between them and some Anglican
clergymen who don’t feel concerned about people flocking out
because of evils therein so long as baskets still gets filled?
5. The Mitalas have made it appear as though their group is
the only one where Born Again are, and therefore them as the
only qualified to speak for all Born Again. I wish to state that
even where they boast of 10,000 pastors countrywide, on the
ground, most pastors and Born Again don’t subscribe or belong to
the NFBAPC. There are many independent pastors and Born Again
honestly seeking and serving God, especially in rural and non
Kampala settings to which I and others belong. For those who
know the NFBAPC leadership, inflating figures for gain is not
new.
The Mitalas ought to understand that I have a right to speak
openly about the evils I see without consulting anyone. I have
even never claimed to speak on behalf of the NFBAPC and I will
never.
6. Finally, the NFBAPC leadership must admit that over the
years, their group has proved a breeding entity for expert
manipulators, thieves and robbers, conmen and women, marriage
and family breakers, spouse snatchers, sexual exploiters,
sodomites, occultists and liars no different from Kakande and
Lule they have disowned. It is a shame. That is why God has
raised up men and women, molded and equipped placed outside the
confines of known Christian groupings to be used in cleaning up
the mess in the body of Christ.
As companies, organizations and government departments need
external auditors to assess their performances, so do churches
need ministries like Arising For Christ to put them back on
course. It is therefore a spiritual flaw that the NFBAPC
leadership has failed to seize opportunity, institute some
self-examination in light of the spiritual scenario, put right
what has gone wrong and get back to the Biblical truth.
Many are wailing hearts, totally devastated families and
communities because of evils committed in the name of the Lord.
We just can’t look on as people perish since such would be
unpatriotic and totally unchristian. As Christians, we are
obliged not to be the thieves or indifferent Levites of the
times, but emulate the Good Samaritan (Luke 10.30-38), Biblical
David (1 Sam 17), Apostle Paul (2 Cor 11) and Reformist Martin
Luther who arise to address the evils in our times and be
pro-active against cults and the occult.
If the Mitalas were really Spiritually guided, visionaries and
not reactionaries, Holy Spirit would have provoked them to feel
remorse, repent and get back to sanity and sanctity while
alienating Kakande, Lule and their likes without banding me
together with the fellows whose evils I have been opposed to for
the last 14 years and obtained detention in the Wandegeya Police
cell for exposing the truth in 1993. What they have manifested
is unmatched arrogance and lack of humility, the ability to
recognize you can be wrong and say, I am / we are sorry like
President Bill Clinton admitted in the Monica Lewinsky scandal.
If a politician can admit wrong, how about a Christian leader!
Therefore, the NFBAPC has proved an economic, health, social,
intellectual and political disaster that all necessary must be
done to either reform it, or cause its demise so that wrong
doers hidden and covered therein can be isolated and exposed.
Short of that, many people must continue falling prey and
stumbling from the Lord who called us by grace and commissioned
us to make disciples of all nations (Mat 28.19).
We can’t just wait to do postmortems on cult casualties for the
same is totally irresponsible, un-patriotic and un-Christian,
similar to the world indifference to the 1994 genocide in Rwanda
& the Kibwetere cult onlookers
I highly commend the press for doing their work diligently.
Bravo, bravo.
I also commend all the men and women whose stand with us has
made us achievers and winners in the war against cults and the
occult.
I owe gratitude to the many men and women whose lives, families
and entire livelihood has been devastated in cults and cultic
entities and in the name of the Lord.
May God give you courage to stand with us that people may know
the truth to be free and free indeed.
