New Testament Warnings on Deception – A Study

The following are a compilation of scriptures in the New
Testament, warning us against false prophets and false teachers…
The scriptures are self explanatory and don’t need a PhD to
figure out what Jesus Christ and the Apostles were speaking
about.
What Jesus Christ and the Apostles were warning about is
simple…there will be false prophets and false teachers who will
come in among you to deceive and lead people astray to
damnation, be aware of them and partner not with them…
Yes, there are many false prophets, false teachers, false
Christian leaders inside the evangelical community; many have
mega churches, worldwide ministries, and powerful Global TV and
Radio media outlets but are deceivers and hiding inside the
Born-again evangelical community deceiving billions. Watch!
Apostasy, false teachers, and false prophets walk together. It
is when false teachers teach false doctrines and heresies that
Christians are poisoned and fall away from truth…
If you are currently under the leadership of a false teacher,
false pastor, false apostle, false men of God and anyone in
leadership over you teaching false doctrines, false prophecies,
I have this simple advice…
It is time that you leave such false teachers, walk away from
that false assemblies, false Churches, false Christian meetings
etc; and seek Christians who wholly love Jesus Christ and the
Whole Counsel of His Holy Word. Don’t partner with false
teachers and those who despise the teachings of Jesus Christ, to
do so is to fellowship with Devils and Demons who co-author
false teachings.
Discernment: They come in sheep’s clothing but are Ravenous
Wolves…
Matthew 7:15
(15)
Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing,
but inwardly they are ravening wolves.
Discernment: You shall know them by their fruits…
Matthew 7:16-20
(16)
Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of
thorns, or figs of thistles?
(17)
Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt
tree bringeth forth evil fruit.
(18)
A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither
can
a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit.
(19)
Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and
cast into the fire.
(20)
Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them.
Discernment:
They
work miracles but are workers of iniquity…
Matthew 7:22-23
(22)
Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not
prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils?
and in thy name done many wonderful works?
(23)
And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from
me, ye that work iniquity.
Discernment:
Many will
come in my Name…and deceive many…
Matthew 24:4-5
(4)
And Jesus answered and said unto them, Take heed that no man
deceive you.
(5)
For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall
deceive many.
Discernment:
False
Prophets will arise and deceive many…
Matthew 24:11-12

And many false prophets shall rise, and shall deceive many.
(12)
And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax
cold.
Warning! There will even be appearances of False Christs,
showing great signs…
Matthew 24:23-27

Then if any man shall say unto you, Lo, here
is
Christ, or there; believe
it
not.
(24)
For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and
shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if
it were
possible, they shall deceive the very elect.
(25)
Behold, I have told you before.
(26)
Wherefore if they shall say unto you, Behold, he is in the
desert; go not forth: behold,
he is
in the secret chambers; believe
it
not.
(27)
For as the lightning cometh out of the east, and shineth even
unto the west; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.
Warning! Take Heed that NO Man deceive you…
Mark 13:5-6

And Jesus answering them began to say, Take heed lest any
man
deceive you:

For many shall come in my name, saying, I am
Christ;
and shall deceive many.
Discernment:
Watch out for the abomination of
desolation…
Mark 13:14
(14)
But when ye shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of
by Daniel the prophet, standing where it ought not, (let him
that readeth understand,) then let them that be in Judaea flee
to the mountains:
Warning: If they tell you Christ (The Anointed one) is here or
there believe it NOT…
Mark 13:21-23
(21)
And then if any man shall say to you, Lo, here
is
Christ; or, lo,
he is
there; believe
him
not:
(22)
For false Christs and false prophets shall rise, and shall shew
signs and wonders, to seduce, if
it were
possible, even the elect.
(23)
But take ye heed: behold, I have foretold you all things.
Discernment:
They will
come saying I am Christ and time draws near (Doctrine of
Imminency)…
Luke 21:8
(8)
And he said, Take heed that ye be not deceived: for many shall
come in my name, saying, I am
Christ;
and the time draweth near: go ye not therefore after them.
Discernment:
Take Heed
that you don’t be deceived by the cares of this world…
Luke 21:34
(34)
And take heed to yourselves, lest at any time your hearts be
overcharged with surfeiting, and drunkenness, and cares of this
life, and
so that day come upon
you unawares.
Discernment:
Be
DISCERNING as the Berean Christians were… Are what the preacher
and pastor of yours saying on the pulpit scriptural or does it
contradict scripture?
Acts 17:10-12

And the brethren immediately sent away Paul and Silas by night
unto Berea: who coming
thither
went into the synagogue of the Jews.
(11)
These were more noble than those in Thessalonica, in that they
received the word with all readiness of mind, and searched the
scriptures daily, whether those things were so.
(12)
Therefore many of them believed; also of honourable women which
were Greeks, and of men, not a few.
Warning! Take Heed, Grievous Wolves Shall Enter in Among You…
Acts 20:25-29
(25)
And now, behold, I know that ye all, among whom I have gone
preaching the kingdom of God, shall see my face no more.
(26)
Wherefore I take you to record this day, that I
am
pure from the blood of all
men.
(27)
For I have not shunned to declare unto you all the counsel of
God.
(28)
Take heed therefore unto yourselves, and to all the flock, over
the which the Holy Ghost hath made you overseers, to feed the
church of God, which he hath purchased with his own blood.
(29)
For I know this, that after my departing shall grievous wolves
enter in among you, not sparing the flock.
Warning! Men from among you shall arise speaking perverse
things, drawing disciples after themselves…
Acts 20:30-31
(30)
Also of your own selves shall men arise, speaking perverse
things, to draw away disciples after them.
(31)
Therefore watch, and remember, that by the space of three years
I ceased not to warn every one night and day with tears.
Discernment: These False Apostles will be covetous of people’s
gold, silver, and apparel…they will be greedy for what is not
theirs – reminiscent of the prosperity gospel…
Acts 20:32-35
(32)
And now, brethren, I commend you to God, and to the word of his
grace, which is able to build you up, and to give you an
inheritance among all them which are sanctified.
(33)
I have coveted no man's silver, or gold, or apparel.
(34)
Yea, ye yourselves know, that these hands have ministered unto
my necessities, and to them that were with me.
(35)
I have shewed you all things, how that so labouring ye ought to
support the weak, and to remember the words of the Lord Jesus,
how he said, It is more blessed to give than to receive.
Discernment:
These who
fall away hold the Truth of God in unrighteousness…
Romans 1:18-20
(18)
For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all
ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in
unrighteousness;
(19)
Because that which may be known of God is manifest in them; for
God hath shewed
it
unto them.
(20)
For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world
are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made,
even
his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse:
Discernment:
These who
fall away knew God but refused to glorify Him…
Romans 1:21-23
(21)
Because that, when they knew God, they glorified
him
not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their
imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened.
(22)
Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools,
(23)
And changed the glory of the uncorruptible God into an image
made like to corruptible man, and to birds, and fourfooted
beasts, and creeping things.
Discernment: God gave them over to uncleanness and sin because
they changed the truth of God into a lie – clearly these are
folks who knew God but fell away… This is what is happening in
Christendom today!
Romans 1:24-27
(24)
Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts
of their own hearts, to dishonour their own bodies between
themselves:
(25)
Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and
served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for
ever. Amen.
(26)
For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even
their women did change the natural use into that which is
against nature:
(27)
And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman,
burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working
that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that
recompence of their error which was meet.
Discernment: These who fall away are those who had the knowledge
of God before but did not retain God in their knowledge – they
are given over to a reprobate mind – consciences seared with a
hot iron…
Romans 1: 28-31
(28)
And even as they did not like to retain God in
their
knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those
things which are not convenient;
(29)
Being filled with all unrighteousness, fornication, wickedness,
covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, debate,
deceit, malignity; whisperers,
(30)
Backbiters, haters of God, despiteful, proud, boasters,
inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents,
(31)
Without understanding, covenantbreakers, without natural
affection, implacable, unmerciful:
Discernment: These Apostates approve those who do evil – they
rubber stamp and condone the evil acts of so-called men of God.
Take for instance in Uganda were an Evangelical Pastor condoned
the sodomizing of a young boy by a fellow pastor…
Romans 1:32

Who knowing the judgment of God, that they which commit such
things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but have
pleasure in them that do them.
Discernment:
Denominationalism is a sign of carnality, divisiveness, and
apostasy…
1 Corinthians 3:3-5
(3)
For ye are yet carnal: for whereas
there is
among you envying, and strife, and divisions, are ye not carnal,
and walk as men?
(4)
For while one saith, I am of Paul; and another, I
am
of Apollos; are ye not carnal?
(5)
Who then is Paul, and who
is
Apollos, but ministers by whom ye believed, even as the Lord
gave to every man?
Warning! There is Another Jesus, Another spirit, Another Gospel
being preached, authored by the serpent – the Devil…
2 Corinthians 11:1-4
(1)
Would to God ye could bear with me a little in
my
folly: and indeed bear with me.
(2)
For I am jealous over you with godly jealousy: for I have
espoused you to one husband, that I may present
you as
a chaste virgin to Christ.
(3)
But I fear, lest by any means, as the serpent beguiled Eve
through his subtilty, so your minds should be corrupted from the
simplicity that is in Christ.
(4)
For if he that cometh preacheth another Jesus, whom we have not
preached, or
if
ye receive another spirit, which ye have not received, or
another gospel, which ye have not accepted, ye might well bear
with him.
Warning! There are False Apostles, Deceitful Workers,
Transforming themselves into Apostles of Christ but are indeed
AGENTS OF THE DEVIL…
2 Corinthians 11:11-13
(11)
Wherefore? because I love you not? God knoweth.
(12)
But what I do, that I will do, that I may cut off occasion from
them which desire occasion; that wherein they glory, they may be
found even as we.
(13)
For such
are false apostles,
deceitful workers, transforming themselves into the apostles of
Christ.
Discernment:
Satan also
transforms himself into an angel of light – the apparitions of
Mary, of Jesus, of dead saints etc, false visitations of Heaven
and Hell… AGENTS OF SATAN also transform themselves as Ministers
of Righteousness on Christian TV, Radio, and on many Evangelical
pulpits…
2 Corinthians 11:14-15
(14)
And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of
light.
(15)
Therefore
it is no great thing if
his ministers also be transformed as the ministers of
righteousness; whose end shall be according to their works.
Discernment: Agents of Satan always bring people into bondage,
devour the people, take from the people, exalt themselves…and
simple minded Christians suffer such fools gladly…
2 Corinthians 11:18-20
(18)
Seeing that many glory after the flesh, I will glory also.
(19)
For ye suffer fools gladly, seeing ye
yourselves
are wise.
(20)
For ye suffer, if a man bring you into bondage, if a man devour
you,
if a man take
of you,
if a man exalt himself, if a man smite you on the face.
WARNING! There is ANOTHER GOSPEL and a PERVERTED GOSPEL being
preached…and whoever preaches such ‘another gospel’ and
‘perverted gospel’ should be accursed…
Galatians 1:6-9
(6)
I marvel that ye are so soon removed from him that called you
into the grace of Christ unto another gospel:
(7)
Which is not another; but there be some that trouble you, and
would pervert the gospel of Christ.
(8)
But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel
unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be
accursed.
(9)
As we said before, so say I now again, If any
man
preach any other gospel unto you than that ye have received, let
him be accursed.
Watch out! Witchcraft in the Church – a gospel of justification
through the law and works – performance based Christianity…
Galatians 3:1-5
(1)
O foolish Galatians, who hath bewitched you, that ye should not
obey the truth, before whose eyes Jesus Christ hath been
evidently set forth, crucified among you?
(2)
This only would I learn of you, Received ye the Spirit by the
works of the law, or by the hearing of faith?
(3)
Are ye so foolish? having begun in the Spirit, are ye now made
perfect by the flesh?
(4)
Have ye suffered so many things in vain? if
it be
yet in vain.
(5)
He therefore that ministereth to you the Spirit, and worketh
miracles among you,
doeth he it
by the works of the law, or by the hearing of faith?
Warning!
There are many whose God is their Belly (Prosperity and Material
wealth) and are enemies of the cross and mind earthly things –
these know the truth but are now enemies of Christ…
Philippians 3:17-19
(17)
Brethren, be followers together of me, and mark them which walk
so as ye have us for an ensample.
(18)
(For many walk, of whom I have told you often, and now tell you
even weeping,
that they are
the enemies of the cross of Christ:
(19)
Whose end
is destruction, whose
God is
their belly, and
whose
glory is
in their shame, who mind earthly things.)
Warning! Don’t be ignorant concerning the Resurrection of the
Dead in Christ… This event will NOT happen until Jesus Christ
returns the Second Time and the dead in Christ will rise first
then we who are alive will be caught up to meet Him in the air.
One of the
greatest deceptions out there is that of a Pre Tribulation
Rapture…that there will be those “left behind” and Jesus will
return in a secret rapture… Don’t be deceived… The resurrection
of the saints happens when Jesus Christ returns the second time
after the tribulation of those days…
1 Thessalonians 4:13-17
(13)
But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning
them which are asleep, that ye sorrow not, even as others which
have no hope.
(14)
For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them
also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him.
(15)
For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which
are alive
and remain unto the
coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep.
(16)
For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout,
with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and
the dead in Christ shall rise first:
(17)
Then we which are alive
and
remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to
meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.
Warning! Paul warns us of a ‘Falling Away’ or an Apostasy
happening in the last days before the Lord Jesus Christ returns…
It will involve Christians falling away from Bible Truth and
Doctrine and following after teachings of demons…
2 Thessalonians 2:1-4
(1)
Now we beseech you, brethren, by the coming of our Lord Jesus
Christ, and
by
our gathering together unto him,
(2)
That ye be not soon shaken in mind, or be troubled, neither by
spirit, nor by word, nor by letter as from us, as that the day
of Christ is at hand.
(3)
Let no man deceive you by any means: for
that day shall not
come, except there come
a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son
of perdition;
(4)
Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God,
or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple
of God, shewing himself that he is God.
Warning! Don’t be deceived, the second coming of Jesus Christ –
resurrection of the dead in Christ and rapture, will NOT take
place unless the Falling Away takes place first and the
Antichrist is revealed…
Don’t be deceived by the “Left Behind” teachings and Pre
Tribulation Teachings that you will be raptured out of here
before the tribulation…those are lies from Satan…
2 Thessalonians 2:1-4
(1)

Warning! The Great Delusion! The Antichrist – the son of
perdition will come with lying signs and wonders. He will be a
great miracle worker and yet deceive many…so if you are
following simply after miracles better take heed. There is a
great delusion underway and those who get caught in it are given
over to it because they LOVE NOT THE TRUTH…
2 Thessalonians 2:8-14
(8)
And then shall that Wicked be revealed, whom the Lord shall
consume with the spirit of his mouth, and shall destroy with the
brightness of his coming:
(9)
Even him,
whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and
signs and lying wonders,
(10)
And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that
perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that
they might be saved.
(11)
And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that
they should believe a lie:
(12)
That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but
had pleasure in unrighteousness.
(13)
But we are bound to give thanks alway to God for you, brethren
beloved of the Lord, because God hath from the beginning chosen
you to salvation through sanctification of the Spirit and belief
of the truth:
(14)
Whereunto he called you by our gospel, to the obtaining of the
glory of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Discernment: Our only escape from this Great Delusion is holding
fast the Doctrine of Jesus Christ, His Sayings, Teachings, and
those of His Apostles as we have them in the New Testament…
2 Thessalonians 2:15
(15)
Therefore, brethren, stand fast, and hold the traditions which
ye have been taught, whether by word, or our epistle.
WARNING! Some shall depart from the faith and give themselves to
SEDUCING SPIRITS and DOCTRINES OF DEVILS… There are many demon
possessed preachers and pastors teaching doctrines of demons on
many pulpits today…
1 Timothy 4:1-3
(1)
Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some
shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits,
and doctrines of devils;
(2)
Speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with
a hot iron;
(3)
Forbidding to marry,
and commanding
to abstain from meats, which God hath created to be received
with thanksgiving of them which believe and know the truth.
Warning! There are those who TEACH OTHERWISE and CONCENT NOT to
the wholesome words of Jesus Christ… They always contradict the
teachings of Jesus Christ…
1 Timothy 6:3-5
(3)
If any man teach otherwise, and consent not to wholesome words,
even
the words of our Lord Jesus Christ, and to the doctrine which is
according to godliness;
(4)
He is proud, knowing nothing, but doting about questions and
strifes of words, whereof cometh envy, strife, railings, evil
surmisings,
(5)
Perverse disputings of men of corrupt minds, and destitute of
the truth, supposing that gain is godliness: from such withdraw
thyself.
Warning! Don’t be deceived by riches and materialism…godliness
with contentment is great gain! For the Love of money is the
root of all evil…
1 Timothy 6:6-12
(6)
But godliness with contentment is great gain.
(7)
For we brought nothing into
this
world, and
it is certain we can
carry nothing out.
(8)
And having food and raiment let us be therewith content.
(9)
But they that will be rich fall into temptation and a snare, and
into
many foolish and hurtful lusts, which drown men in destruction
and perdition.
(10)
For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some
coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced
themselves through with many sorrows.
(11)
But thou, O man of God, flee these things; and follow after
righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, meekness.
(12)
Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life,
whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good
profession before many witnesses.
Warning! Don’t be deceived by Trusting in Riches and being High
Minded (elitism)… Avoid false knowledge – vain arguments – vain
worldly philosophy…which some professing error from the faith…
1 Timothy 6:13-12
(13)
I give thee charge in the sight of God, who quickeneth all
things, and
before
Christ Jesus, who before Pontius Pilate witnessed a good
confession;
(14)
That thou keep
this
commandment without spot, unrebukeable, until the appearing of
our Lord Jesus Christ:
(15)
Which in his times he shall shew,
who is
the blessed and only Potentate, the King of kings, and Lord of
lords;
(16)
Who only hath immortality, dwelling in the light which no man
can approach unto; whom no man hath seen, nor can see: to whom
be
honour and power everlasting. Amen.
(17)
Charge them that are rich in this world, that they be not
highminded, nor trust in uncertain riches, but in the living
God, who giveth us richly all things to enjoy;
(18)
That they do good, that they be rich in good works, ready to
distribute, willing to communicate;
(19)
Laying up in store for themselves a good foundation against the
time to come, that they may lay hold on eternal life.
(20)
O Timothy, keep that which is committed to thy trust, avoiding
profane and
vain babblings, and oppositions of science falsely so called:
(21)
Which some professing have erred concerning the faith. Grace
be
with thee. Amen.
Discernment:
Perilous times shall come in the
last days…men shall be lovers of themselves, resisters of truth,
having a form of godliness but denying the power thereof…from
such turn away!
2 Timothy 3:1-9
(1)
This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come.
(2)
For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters,
proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy,
(3)
Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers,
incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good,
(4)
Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than
lovers of God;
(5)
Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from
such turn away.
(6)
For of this sort are they which creep into houses, and lead
captive silly women laden with sins, led away with divers lusts,
(7)
Ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the
truth.
(8)
Now as Jannes and Jambres withstood Moses, so do these also
resist the truth: men of corrupt minds, reprobate concerning the
faith.
(9)
But they shall proceed no further: for their folly shall be
manifest unto all
men,
as theirs also was.
Warning! Evil Men and Seducers shall only grow from worse to
worse… Keep to Sound Doctrine and Scriptures which are able to
make you wise unto salvation in Christ Jesus…
2 Timothy 3:10-17
(10)
But thou hast fully known my doctrine, manner of life, purpose,
faith, longsuffering, charity, patience,
(11)
Persecutions, afflictions, which came unto me at Antioch, at
Iconium, at Lystra; what persecutions I endured: but out of
them
all the Lord delivered me.
(12)
Yea, and all that will live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer
persecution.
(13)
But evil men and seducers shall wax worse and worse, deceiving,
and being deceived.
(14)
But continue thou in the things which thou hast learned and hast
been assured of, knowing of whom thou hast learned
them;
(15)
And that from a child thou hast known the holy scriptures, which
are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is
in Christ Jesus.
(16)
All scripture
is
given by inspiration of God, and
is
profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for
instruction in righteousness:
(17)
That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all
good works.
Warning! There are many Vain Talkers and Deceivers especially of
the circumcision (Justification through the Law and Flesh
teachers)
Titus 1:10-12
(10)
For there are many unruly and vain talkers and deceivers,
specially they of the circumcision:
(11)
Whose mouths must be stopped, who subvert whole houses, teaching
things which they ought not, for filthy lucre's sake.
(12)
One of themselves,
even
a prophet of their own, said, The Cretians
are
alway liars, evil beasts, slow bellies.
Warning! Don’t give heed to Jewish Fables and Commandments of
Men…they will turn you from Truth…
Titus 1:13-14
(13)
This witness is true. Wherefore rebuke them sharply, that they
may be sound in the faith;
(14)
Not giving heed to Jewish fables, and commandments of men, that
turn from the truth.
Discernment: To the defiled nothing is pure, their mind and
conscience is defiled – they profess to know God but deny Him –
they are reprobate… Fallen away… Apostate…
Titus 1:15-16
(15)
Unto the pure all things
are
pure: but unto them that are defiled and unbelieving
is
nothing pure; but even their mind and conscience is defiled.
(16)
They profess that they know God; but in works they deny
him,
being abominable, and disobedient, and unto every good work
reprobate.
Discernment! Jesus Christ is the same yesterday today and
forever…meaning that you cannot separate the Jesus Christ of the
New Testament from the Jesus Christ of Today… You cannot
separate Jesus Christ from His Teachings today…those who do so
are heretics and frauds…

Hebrews 13:9

Be not carried about with divers and strange doctrines. For
it is
a good thing that the heart be established with grace; not with
meats, which have not profited them that have been occupied
therein.
Warning!
Don’t DECIEVE YOURSELF by not being a door of God’s Word…
Remember that many deceivers and the deceived have the knowledge
of God but deny God – they have the fear of God but deny the
power thereof.
James 1:21-27

Wherefore lay apart all filthiness and superfluity of
naughtiness, and receive with meekness the engrafted word, which
is able to save your souls.

But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving
your own selves.
(23)
For if any be a hearer of the word, and not a doer, he is like
unto a man beholding his natural face in a glass:
(24)
For he beholdeth himself, and goeth his way, and straightway
forgetteth what manner of man he was.
(25)
But whoso looketh into the perfect law of liberty, and
continueth
therein, he being not a
forgetful hearer, but a doer of the work, this man shall be
blessed in his deed.
(26)
If any man among you seem to be religious, and bridleth not his
tongue, but deceiveth his own heart, this man's religion
is
vain.
(27)
Pure religion and undefiled before God and the Father is this,
To visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction,
and
to keep himself unspotted from the world.
Warning!
Friendship with the world is enmity with God… Friendship with
the world always produces strife, wars, fighting, lusts, and
pride, drawing one away from God…
James 4:1-8

From whence
come
wars and fightings among you?
come they
not hence,
even of your lusts that
war in your members?
(2)
Ye lust, and have not: ye kill, and desire to have, and cannot
obtain: ye fight and war, yet ye have not, because ye ask not.
(3)
Ye ask, and receive not, because ye ask amiss, that ye may
consume it
upon your lusts.
(4)
Ye adulterers and adulteresses, know ye not that the friendship
of the world is enmity with God? whosoever therefore will be a
friend of the world is the enemy of God.
(5)
Do ye think that the scripture saith in vain, The spirit that
dwelleth in us lusteth to envy?
(6)
But he giveth more grace. Wherefore he saith, God resisteth the
proud, but giveth grace unto the humble.
(7)
Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he
will flee from you.
(8)
Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you. Cleanse
your
hands, ye
sinners; and purify
your
hearts, ye
double minded.
Discernment:
Be watchful for the end of all
things is near… Watch out for false teachers, false prophets and
heretics who will abound in these last days…
