The Scoffers Scoff...

By Kato Mivule

Words that will certainly fulfill Revelations 6:5-7…a days wages will only buy bread enough to feed a family, are about to be fulfilled economically, there will no longer be any economic independence except for those in Jesus Christ, and they will suffer as a result cause they won’t bow their knee to Baal.

               Revelations 6:5-7

5 And when he had opened the third seal, I heard the third beast say, Come and see. And I beheld, and lo a black horse; and he that sat on him had a pair of balances in his hand. 6 And I heard a voice in the midst of the four beasts say, A measure of wheat for a penny, and three measures of barley for a penny; and see thou hurt not the oil and the wine. 7

However, the days pass by and people scoff at the words of Jesus Christ and His Prophets about these days we live in, everything seems to go on as usual, everyone enjoys their “Purpose-Driven” Latte brewed so strong that they won’t be “Left Behind”…I call it the Great Delusion that has taken millions captive simply because of the riches and wealth they enjoy in this day and age.

However, Peter the Apostle summed it up so well when he wrote this piece of scripture 2 Peter 3:2-15, to a suffering church. We should remember Peter was about to be executed, these below are words from a man about to be martyred for Loving Jesus Christ, he had no protection from Rome or Caesar, he had no Lawyers, Christian Coalition but Only Jesus Christ and counted it worthy to suffer for the Lord; so reading the scripture in the context of the Early persecuted, suffering, and a soon to be executed apostle helps.

We are living in such times that the scoffers are poking their noses to God and asking, “when will the sky fall?” everything continues as it was. However, as they shout peace, peace, then sudden destruction will get them unaware. For The Lord is not Slack as some suppose. So we are to be aware of this spirit of Slackness that has come upon the Church, it is a spirit of slumber and catch a few 'z' s, supposing nothing will happen. It is deceit and lies from the enemy, trying to let people not awaken to total repentance to God.

This is a time for total surrender, holiness, seeking God’s will and drawing close to Him in great anticipation of The Lord’s Coming—Maranatha! Our eyes cannot be any longer on this world, we cannot fix our eyes on the gold and silver of this world, and we are called to look to Jesus Christ. The great wealth and riches of this world will soon come fade away. The rich men of the earth will wail and cry as they behold the Risen Christ, as the Bible says they will all see Him whom they pierced.

However, these are very exciting times to live, times to rejoice greatly in the Lord, for He is a Just God and a Faithful God. It is a time as Christians to anticipate His coming, not the “Left Behind” rapture series but enduring to the end. Not by might or Power but by the Spirit of the Lord. He will give grace to endure the coming days ahead.

When the Tsunami hit Asia, it is said that most who were killed were those kids on the beach, who when the waters retreated into the Ocean, they went on the seemingly dry sand picked fish and run around the sea bed, it seemed a little peaceful time when suddenly they were hit with what we know as a great Tsunami. So will it be with this generation as they scoff and shout peace, peace, suddenly a great Economic and Political Tsunami will hit.

Peter the Apostle speaks well to our generation...especially to America and all forms of Westernized Christianity should take heed…

2 Peter 3: 2-15

2 That ye may be mindful of the words which were spoken before by the holy prophets, and of the commandment of us the apostles of the Lord and Saviour: 3 Knowing this first, that there shall come in the last days scoffers, walking after their own lusts, 4 And saying, Where is the promise of his coming? for since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of the creation.

5 For this they willingly are ignorant of, that by the word of God the heavens were of old, and the earth standing out of the water and in the water: 6 Whereby the world that then was, being overflowed with water, perished: 7 But the heavens and the earth, which are now, by the same word are kept in store, reserved unto fire against the day of judgment and perdition of ungodly men. 8 But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.

 9 The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance. 10 But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up.

 11 Seeing then that all these things shall be dissolved, what manner of persons ought ye to be in all holy conversation and godliness, 12 Looking for and hasting unto the coming of the day of God, wherein the heavens being on fire shall be dissolved, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat? 13 Nevertheless we, according to his promise, look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness.

 14 Wherefore, beloved, seeing that ye look for such things, be diligent that ye may be found of him in peace, without spot, and blameless. 15 And account that the longsuffering of our Lord is salvation; even as our beloved brother Paul also according to the wisdom given unto him hath written unto you;

Your Brother and Fellow Servant in Christ
