Uncompromising Peaceful Christians in a Secular World

Regardless of the outcome of the US Presidential elections and who becomes US president, as Christians, we are called to be a people of peace. We are not to be given over to hate, violence and any type of evil.

Being peaceful is humbling and an experience that tests one’s character. However, being peaceful does not mean compromising one’s faith. I am not calling anyone to compromise their faith in Christ and stand for Truth based on God’s Word. I am not at all calling on for ecumenism, no but rather being a peaceful people void of hate, racism, and violence.

We must understand that the notion of a “Christian Nation” is false and a lie and as one professor mentioned, a “myth”. There will never ever be a “Christian Nation America”, there will never ever be a Nation on earth governed by “Christian Laws”. It will never happen and if it does happen, it will be very unbiblical and very diabolical…

On the spiritual side, it Satan that has been given some kind of authority for a time over this world until The Lord Jesus Christ returns. So, those seeking to create a “Christian Nation” only will serve the diabolical aims of Satan…

John 14:30
(30)  Hereafter I will not talk much with you: for the prince of this world cometh, and hath nothing in me.

John 12:31
(31)  Now is the judgment of this world: now shall the prince of this world be cast out.

2 Corinthians 4:4
(4)  In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them.

Ephesians 2:2
(2)  Wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience:

1 John 5:19
(19)  And we know that we are of God, and the whole world lieth in wickedness.

Even Jesus Christ did not seek to create a physical Kingdom during His stay on earth…He postponed that to His Second Coming…at the dismay of many Jews who thought that Jesus Christ had come to free them from the Roman Empire.
John 18:36
(36)  Jesus answered, My kingdom is not of this world: if my kingdom were of this world, then would my servants fight, that I should not be delivered to the Jews: but now is my kingdom not from hence.

Luke 19:11-13
(11)  And as they heard these things, he added and spake a parable, because he was nigh to Jerusalem, and because they thought that the kingdom of God should immediately appear.
(12)  He said therefore, A certain noble man went into a far country to receive for himself a kingdom, and to return.
(13)  And he called his ten servants, and delivered them ten pounds, and said unto them, Occupy till I come.
The temptation is the same today for US Evangelical Christians to think that they can successfully “make” the Kingdom of God appear on earth through politics and legislative maneuvers. This is not only insane ‘Christian Coalition’ ideology but madness that has turned US Evangelicals into a Political group and therefore Christians in America are seen as one and the same with the ‘Republican Conservative Party’… If the Republicans endorse bombing and attacking other nations, Christians are seen as one and the same in such warmongering acts.

The lie is that some how the Republican Party will help Christians abolish abortion and gay marriages. As a matter of fact, abortions and gay marriages have flourished under the G.W Bush Republican presidency. G.W Bush has done nothing as President to stop them apart from making comments and opinions about his dislike for gay marriages and abortions. So, no party can cure the moral ills of one’s heart, no political party can forgive sins and offer eternal life.

I do not need to be a prophet to tell you this, regardless of who wins the US presidency, abortions will continue in the US and Gay marriages will not stop. John McCain will not be able to place a stop of Homosexual activity in the US; it will only grow and grow. This world will only increase in being more wicked and evil until Jesus Christ comes back.

Jesus Christ stated equivocally that His Kingdom is NOT of this world; otherwise His servants would fight for Him… Today the ‘Christian Coalition’ and other US Evangelical Political organizations are ‘trying’ to ‘fight’ a physical fight for Jesus that His kingdom be established on earth…they are fighting for ‘another Jesus’ and not the Jesus Christ of the Bible…

We live in a secular world and are governed by secular laws, we are to be a peaceful people as Christians and yet not compromising our faith and Word of Truth that we have in Christ Jesus.

Our duty as Christians is to preach the Gospel of Jesus Christ, calling all people to repentance. We are not to force Christianity down the throats of people and nations by the barrel of the gun. We are not called to be hateful, racist, tribal, fearful, phobic, and or violent.

Instead we should be working strongly for peace and helping the weak and poor even as we preach the Gospel of Jesus Christ peacefully without any help from the State.

Those who seek a “Christian Nation” will have to fight physically for it and surely that is not what Jesus Christ would do.

On reading many US Evangelical Websites and listening to many Christian Radio Talk Shows, one would conclude truly that Christians in the US are not driven by peace but fear and hate and surely to get the “Christian Nation” they so much desire; they will have to fight physically for it as a “Christian Nation” is part and parcel of the kingdom of this world…

Unless Evangelical America changes and repents of her ways, in the future, her servants – the American pastors will have to pick up guns and physically fight for the (re)establishment of a “Christian Nation” – the “Take America Back” initiative…it is only a matter of time.

However, to the peace and truth loving Christians, Jesus Christ clearly stated that His Kingdom is NOT of this world; otherwise His servants would fight for Him. So, who are the US Evangelical Political Pastors and Preachers fighting for?  Brethren, lets not be deceived, we are called to be a peaceful Christian people, yet not compromising our faith and truth in Christ Jesus…

In this world we shall have tribulations, sufferings, many things going unfair for us as Christians yet we are called to have peace in a society that is increasingly anti God.

John 16:33
(33)  These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.

Why is it that Political Christians seem to have many enemies and filled with hate, scorn, and ridicule towards their opponents? Is it perhaps that their ways are unpleasing to God and therefore no peace?

Proverbs 16:7
(7)  When a man's ways please the LORD, he maketh even his enemies to be at peace with him.

We are COMMANDED in the New Testament to follow after peace with ALL men…that does not mean compromising our faith or becoming ecumenical but desisting and denouncing all forms of hate and violence and preaching the gospel of Jesus Christ peacefully and lovingly…

Hebrews 12:14
(14)  Follow peace with all men, and holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord:

I for one wish and pray that abortions are stopped in the USA and rest of the world. It is my prayer that Marriage is not redefined to include Gay relationships. However, the ‘establishment’ of a “Christian Nation” is not what will change the hearts of men and women. Christian ‘Hate and Violence’ will not help either but rather the peaceful preaching of the Gospel of Repentance in Jesus Christ.

It is time that Christian America wakes up that we live in a secular world, governed by secular laws and we are pilgrims in passing through this world. Legislating Christianity is useless and will only breed fascism as those who wish to establish a kingdom of the ‘another Jesus’, will have to physically fight for it because they yearn for a kingdom of this world.

We are commanded to depart from all forms of evil, do good, and seek peace. Let us take up this challenge as we deal with and encounter Moslems and Arab peoples. Instead of returning evil for evil, hate speech and hate incitements, let us as Christians led the way in doing good and seeking peace and pursuing it.

Psalms 34:14
(14)  Depart from evil, and do good; seek peace, and pursue it.

1 Peter 3:9-11
(9)  Not rendering evil for evil, or railing for railing: but contrariwise blessing; knowing that ye are thereunto called, that ye should inherit a blessing.
(10)  For he that will love life, and see good days, let him refrain his tongue from evil, and his lips that they speak no guile:
(11)  Let him eschew evil, and do good; let him seek peace, and ensue it.
