Once again we take a look at what some of the Apostles of Jesus Christ wrote concerning False Preachers and Teachers, and the need for Christians to stay on guard and watch with all discernment based on The Word of God.
I place strong emphasis on Discernment based on God’s Word as a need and essentiality for every Christians who desires to walk with The Lord in these last days full of evil and increasingly great deception.
I feel a strong burden for my people in Uganda who have great zeal for the things of The Lord yet many Christians in Uganda are running after so-called Men of God because of healings and miracles regardless of the status of their Faith in Christ Jesus.
There was strong emphasis on Evangelism in the 1980s and 1990s and the Evangelical Church in Uganda ignored Sound Bible Doctrine and as such fell victim to False Teachings mainly from the Prosperity Gospel Movement and False Miracle and Healing Movement.
As such many Christians in Uganda don’t know actually what they believe and even when they study the scriptures on their own, they are afraid to live out their Faith in Christ as they have to fully give allegiance to “Men of God” and preachers who use fear to control and manipulate their congregants.
The results of a missing Sound Bible Teaching ministry in Uganda’s evangelical Church has resulted in extreme cases of Pastors and “powerful Men of God” sodomizing their church members, engaging in extortion, lies, heresy, ‘wife-snatching’, etc without fear but outright impunity.
However, many Pastors in Uganda are beginning to awake and stand for Truth and Sound Bible Doctrine. Many of these courageous Pastors are exposing the lies and heresy of false preachers despite strong opposition from the so-called Men of God and hopefully this article will help Christians and Church Leaders with discernment in their walk with Jesus Christ.
2 Peter Chapter 2 is very descriptive of false preachers and teachers and self explanatory. 2 Peter Actually speaks to our generation and places strong emphasis on the need for Christians to exercise Discernment so as not to be caught in the wiles and schemes of the Satan inside the Church.
It must be noted that 2 Peter actually addresses Christians and Christians Leaders insides the Church. 2Peter Chapter 2 was not written to the None Christian Community but to the Christians and as such we must take serious note…
There will be False Teachers among You…
2 Peter 2:1
1But there were false prophets also among the people, even as there shall be false teachers among you, who privily shall bring in damnable heresies, even denying the Lord that bought them, and bring upon themselves swift destruction.
- Peter the Apostle warns that there will be False Teachers among you…the emphasis is placed on the Christian Community… The False Teachers will be there inside Christian Churches… Jude in his letter to the Church states that the False Teachers will come in by ‘stealth’…they will come in unnoticed and in disguise – wolves in sheep’s skins…
Jude 1:3-4
3Beloved, when I gave all diligence to write unto you of the common salvation, it was needful for me to write unto you, and exhort you that ye should earnestly contend for the faith which was once delivered unto the saints.
4For there are certain men crept in unawares, who were before of old ordained to this condemnation, ungodly men, turning the grace of our God into lasciviousness, and denying the only Lord God, and our Lord Jesus Christ.
- These false teachers will teach damnable heresies… They will teach doctrines that can certainly cause one to deny their faith in Christ… Christians ought to take the issue of false teachers seriously…there are spiritual eternal ramifications with ‘damnable heresies’…
- False Teachers will even teach doctrines that deny The Lordship of Jesus Christ…remember many of them say Lord, Lord but do not do the things that Jesus Christ commanded…they practice iniquity… Just because they say Jesus Christ is Lord does not mean they are true… Watch out!
- These False Teachers will bring swift judgment on themselves… Therefore get away from their Churches and gatherings and seek to fellowship with Christians and Church Leaders who are given to Sound Bible Doctrine…
2 Peter 2:2
2And many shall follow their pernicious ways; by reason of whom the way of truth shall be evil spoken of.
- Many False Teachers will always have huge followings and large crowds of people following them… Just because a Preacher or Teacher can fill up a Football Stadium with people does not mean such preacher is true and has the Holy Spirit…
- The way of Truth is always spoken evil of… Because of the misrepresentation of The True Gospel of Jesus Christ, many people now speak evil of the Christianity in generalized terms, for example, thinking that every Christian is out to make money like the Prosperity Gospel Preachers…
2 Peter 2:3
3And through covetousness shall they with feigned words make merchandise of you: whose judgment now of a long time lingereth not, and their damnation slumbereth not.
- They make Merchandise of You… If there is any telling sign that a preacher is false or on the path of apostasy is when they begin to sell the gospel and make merchandise of you… They begin to see you as their commodity to buy their gospel… They begin to make money off their congregants…
- We see a lot of this today, especially on TBN TV. Most recently, a famous Preacher travelled to Uganda from the USA and charged people 50 US Dollars to hear him speak…almost 20,000 people attended and he made almost 1 Million US Dollars, a true sign of a false prophet…
- Peter the apostle warns that the end of such False Preachers and Teachers will be Damnation…they end up in Hell unless they repent…
2 Peter 2:4
4For if God spared not the angels that sinned, but cast them down to hell, and delivered them into chains of darkness, to be reserved unto judgment;
5And spared not the old world, but saved Noah the eighth person, a preacher of righteousness, bringing in the flood upon the world of the ungodly;
6And turning the cities of Sodom and Gomorrha into ashes condemned them with an overthrow, making them an ensample unto those that after should live ungodly;
- The scripture above pours cold water on the false doctrine of eternal security… The Lord did not spare any angels that sinned but cast them in to Hell… This scripture should bring godly fear into our lives that we work out our salvation in Fear and Trembling before The Lord…
- False teachers and those who support them knowingly will end up in hell unless they repent. Do not believe the false teachings of Eternal Security; it is a ‘hiss of the serpent’ as one brother put it.
2 Peter 2: 7
7And delivered just Lot, vexed with the filthy conversation of the wicked:
8(For that righteous man dwelling among them, in seeing and hearing, vexed his righteous soul from day to day with their unlawful deeds;)
9The Lord knoweth how to deliver the godly out of temptations, and to reserve the unjust unto the day of judgment to be punished:
- Even though many Christians are still caught up in the teachings and ministries of False Teachers, The Lord in His Mercy and Grace will make a way for true Christians to come to the knowledge of Truth and escape the schemes of false teachers.
- However, sometimes even though The Lord will protect these True Christians and deliver them from the evil schemes of False teachers and preachers, still many of these Christians escape with wounds and letdown just like Lot escaped but lost all he had…
2 Peter 2:10
10But chiefly them that walk after the flesh in the lust of uncleanness, and despise government. Presumptuous are they, selfwilled, they are not afraid to speak evil of dignities.
11Whereas angels, which are greater in power and might, bring not railing accusation against them before the Lord.
12But these, as natural brute beasts, made to be taken and destroyed, speak evil of the things that they understand not; and shall utterly perish in their own corruption;
- These False Teachers always walk after the flesh… They seek to teach doctrines that care about the gratification of the flesh such as the Prosperity Doctrine, Materialism, desire for power, political influence, etc... No wonder the increasing cases of Sexual Abuse and Sodomy inside Uganda’s Evangelical Church…
- These False Teachers despise godly Authority… They despise those Christian Leaders who call them to accountability to Sound Bible Doctrine… They despise those Christian leaders who call them to forsake sin and evil… They despise those Christian leaders who expose their evil acts such as greed, materialism, sodomy, etc…
- These False Teachers are Presumptuous… That is they are arrogant and assume things that they are not… They assume to have authority in The Lord that they don’t have… They assume to have power in The Lord that they don’t have… They assume to know the will of God when they actually do not…you hear them all the time claiming that “God Spoke To Me”…every time “God Speaks to Them”…this is nothing but presumption and self deception…
- These False Teachers are always Self-willed… Because they are presumptuous and assume to be what they are not, they become self willed and stubborn and will not humble themselves to Truth in God’s Word regardless of how much you show it to them…
- These False Teachers always speak evil of dignitaries… We find the same phrase and words used in the Letter of Jude and his warnings to the Church concerning false teachers… These False Teachers and Preachers because of a Presumptuous nature always engage in “Spiritual Warfare” claiming that they can tear down principalities and powers and reclaim Cities and nations for God…
- They always engage in cursing Satan and his demonic powers in the Heavenly places, a thing that Jesus Christ did not do, and neither the Apostles did… Jesus Christ simply ‘cast out’ the demons out of people but was not seen ‘casting down’ principalities to take over cities so as to take cities for Himself…
- Secondly, we do not see Jesus Christ or His Apostles call Satan curse words and curse names but rather they addressed him as Satan and even Archangel Michael in his dispute with Satan over the body of Moses, never mentioned a curse word against Satan but simply said “The Lord Rebuke You”…
- It is spiritual presumption to curse Satan, call him names, and think we do ourselves a service. This self will and presumption has brought down the Spiritual Mapping and Spiritual Warfare Movement…
- The Prosperity Gospel Movement and Word-Faith Movement Teachers have been largely big proponents of such ‘Spiritual Presumption’. One famous Prosperity Word of Faith Gospel Preacher claimed that he could simply “Call Satan, laugh at Satan while Satan sits down and listens to him, and then he would kick Satan’s butt and cast him out of the room…” This is pure presumption and False Spiritual Warfare…
- I am in no way glorifying Satan or making him more powerful that he is but in the True Spiritual Warfare between Michael and Satan over the body of Moses, Archangel Michael simply said “The Lord Rebuke You Satan…”
8Likewise also these filthy dreamers defile the flesh, despise dominion, and speak evil of dignities.
9Yet Michael the archangel, when contending with the devil he disputed about the body of Moses, durst not bring against him a railing accusation, but said, The Lord rebuke thee.
10But these speak evil of those things which they know not: but what they know naturally, as brute beasts, in those things they corrupt themselves.
These False Teachers are spots and Blemishes in your Gatherings…
2 Peter 2:13
13And shall receive the reward of unrighteousness, as they that count it pleasure to riot in the day time. Spots they are and blemishes, sporting themselves with their own deceivings while they feast with you;
- False Teachers will receive a reward of unrighteousness… The end of False Teachers is Hell unless they repent and turn to The Lord who is full of Mercy and Grace and willing to forgive…
- False Teachers always seek to please the flesh and teach doctrines that are exciting to The Flesh… Peter the Apostle uses very strong language here in describing them as folks who count it pleasure to riot in the day…in other words, they riot in unrighteous acts in broad day light… They engage in rebellion, insurgency, and uprisings of sin so as to find ways to please the flesh…
- False Teachers are spots and blemishes in your gatherings… This is something that Christians and Christian Leaders should take seriously…
- Many Christians think that they can continue to fellowship and stay under Churches and ministries of Church leaders who they know are false, thinking that they can ‘change Rome from within’… Yet such is a waste of time, rather walking away from such preachers and seeking fellowship with Christians and Christian Leaders given to the True Gospel and Sound Bible Doctrine is the wise…
- Don’t be deceived in staying under a corrupt Christian Leader’s Ministry…Flee for your own spiritual life…
False Teachers have eyes full of adultery…
2 Peter 2: 14
14Having eyes full of adultery, and that cannot cease from sin; beguiling unstable souls: an heart they have exercised with covetous practices; cursed children:
- False Teachers are described as having eyes full of adultery… What Peter the apostle is speaking about here is not just physical adultery but spiritual adultery that involves the love of the world and friendship with the world…
- False Teachers always speak and teach on how best to love the world and be loved by the world – ‘seven steps to living your best life on earth’ is an example…
James 4:4
4Ye adulterers and adulteresses, know ye not that the friendship of the world is enmity with God? whosoever therefore will be a friend of the world is the enemy of God.
- False Teachers also never cease from sin… being a Christian does not mean that one stops struggling with sin but these false teachers never cease from sin…they always find ways to continue in sin and at the end justify their sinning…
- False Teachers always beguile unstable souls… They entice unstable Christians and those who are not saved… They find ways to manipulate and control unstable souls and weak Christians in the faith through false teachings… They teach doctrines that are itching to the ear and sweet to the listeners…they entice souls by teaching things that people love to hear…
- False Teachers have hearts given to covetous practices… They are given to greed, materialism, indulgences, love for more fleshly pleasure all in the name of Prosperity Gospel...
- False Teachers are Accursed Children… This is one of the times that the New Testament speaks of who is cursed… The New Testament makes it clear that those who are cursed are the False Teachers and False Preachers.
- Yet many times False Teachers and False Preachers claim that Christians in their congregations are cursed and that they can only get “deliverance” from their (false teacher/preacher) ministry… This is a lie from Satan… The only folks that are cursed and called accursed children are the False Teachers and Preachers even as Paul the apostle notes below…
- Beware Christian, that famous Teacher and Preacher you so much desire to follow might actually be a Cursed Minister…
Galatians 1:8-9
8But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed.
9As we said before, so say I now again, if any man preach any other gospel unto you than that ye have received, let him be accursed.
False Teachers and Preachers go after the ways of Balaam…
2 Peter 2:15-16
15Which have forsaken the right way, and are gone astray, following the way of Balaam the son of Bosor, who loved the wages of unrighteousness;
16But was rebuked for his iniquity: the dumb ass speaking with man's voice forbad the madness of the prophet.
- False Teachers and Preachers always go after the ways of Balaam who was a Prophet for Profit. Balaam as we read in the book of Numbers Chapter 22 prophesied for money and gifts in return and also placed stumbling blocks before the Children of Israel that they might sin against The Lord…
- The Prosperity Gospel and Word-Faith Movement is a pure Balaam Movement of our day…
False Teachers blown away with every wind of Doctrine…
2 Peter 2: 17
17These are wells without water, clouds that are carried with a tempest; to whom the mist of darkness is reserved for ever.
- False Teachers are susceptible to be blown away with every new wind of false doctrine and carried away by the excitements of the day…
- The end of such false teachers and preachers is darkness for ever…
False Teachers always speak great swelling words – pompous…
2 Peter 2:18
18For when they speak great swelling words of vanity, they allure through the lusts of the flesh, through much wantonness, those that were clean escaped from them who live in error.
- False Teachers and Preachers always speak words of pomp about how great they are and how powerful they project themselves to be…
- They always speak of how great they will become and how they will move to the “next level of prosperity” …
- They always use great swelling words to entice unstable souls – those who had gotten saved and also had escaped false doctrines…
- Christians ought to watch and discern these wolves in sheep’s clothing who always speak greatness and pomp in order to entice unstable souls…
False Teachers Promise Liberty yet they themselves are captive…
2 Peter 2:19
19While they promise them liberty, they themselves are the servants of corruption: for of whom a man is overcome, of the same is he brought in bondage.
- It is no wonder that False Teachers and Preachers always engage in promising their followers liberty yet they themselves are captives to sin and evil…
- It is not surprising to find preachers who claim that they can offer “deliverance” and set their captive free yet they themselves are slaves to evils such as sodomy and greed.
- A ‘powerful’ “Man of God” in Kampala, Uganda promises his congregants freedom from demonic power and asks his congregants money to gain access to his “Fellowships” yet the preacher is a pure sodomite and engages in abusing young boys… The same preacher is busy amassing wealth while promising his congregants riches and more prosperity…
- Such False Preachers and Teachers promise liberty but are themselves captives of Satan and his False Teachings…
Eternal Security Doctrine Debunked here again…
2 Peter 2:20-22
20For if after they have escaped the pollutions of the world through the knowledge of the Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, they are again entangled therein, and overcome, the latter end is worse with them than the beginning.
21For it had been better for them not to have known the way of righteousness, than, after they have known it, to turn from the holy commandment delivered unto them.
22But it is happened unto them according to the true proverb, The dog is turned to his own vomit again; and the sow that was washed to her wallowing in the mire.
- Once again Peter the apostle debunks the Eternal Security Doctrine by showing us that these False Teachers actually begun well and knew the way of the Truth, they once walked with The Lord Jesus Christ but decided to turn away from Him and follow after the Teachings of Demons and Devils…
- Peter the apostle describes how these false teachers had once escaped the pollutions of the world through the knowledge of The Lord and Savior Jesus Christ but got entangled in the world and the latter end is worse than the first…
- Peter the apostle goes ahead to describe how it would have been better for these false teachers and preachers never to have known the way of righteousness than to have known it and then turning away from the holy commandment given to them…
- Peter the apostle is clearly speaking about Christians and believers who are saved and knew The Lord Jesus Christ as Savior …
- Yet still even with such evidence we have Christian Teachers and Preachers from the so-called Calvin camp preach the Once Saved Always Saved Eternal Security Doctrine…that no matter what one does, when they get saved, they can still go to heaven… This is not the case here…
- Eternal security Doctrine is a lie from the pit of Hell and better watch Out Christian… Don’t let that preacher or teacher deceive you that you can do whatever sin you want and still get to heaven… Peter the apostle clearly states that false teachers and preachers once knew The Lord but decided to turn back…
- It is time to take the humble route before The Lord and ask Him grace and mercy that we may overcome sin rather than fall into presumption that we are OK and when we sin there are no consequences as long as we got saved… Don’t believe the lie of Eternal Security – it is a pure false doctrine from Hell…
- Peter the apostle even uses very strong graphic descriptive language of a dog returning to its vomit and a sow that was washed to her wallowing in the mire…such are False Teachers and False Preachers and those who choose to knowingly follow their false doctrines.
2 Peter 2 totally debunks the myth of Eternal Security Teachings and pours cold water on the presumptuous notions of Once Saved Always Saved Doctrine.
In Christ Jesus
